

Harry Pawling, age 95, of Hamilton, died at Berkeley Square Health Care on Monday, June 18, 2012. Harry was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on January 13, 1917, the son of the late Harry and Julia (Kelly) Pawling. He received his Bachelor degree from New York University. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. On July 16, 1948, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Harry married his wife of over 33 years, Elaine Harrity and she preceded him in death in 1981. He worked for Champion International and retired in 1981. He was a member of Queen of Peace Church and Holy Name Society. Harry is survived by his children, two sets of twins, Jerry (Terry) Pawling and Judy Schmidt, Patrick (Debbie) Pawling and Paula (Richard) Rivera; ten grandchildren, Ryan (Danielle) Rivera, Patrick (Linda) Rivera, Brendan Rivera, Kevin Rivera, Kyle Pawling, Kara (Derrick) Tafur, Christopher Schmidt, Melissa Schmidt, Heather Pawling and Matt (Alexis) Pawling; and four great-grandchildren, Brady, J.D. and Hope Rivera and Logan Pawling. Harry was also preceded in death by his brother, George Pawling; sister, Helen Manley; and great-grandson, Dylan Rivera. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Road, Hamilton, at 11am on Thursday, June 21, 2012, with Father Jeffery Bacon officiating. Entombment will follow at St Stephen Mausoleum. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 10am-11am at the church.
