

Homer Eugene Bolser of Somerville, Ohio died on January 23, 2017. He was born May 29, 1923 in Maud, Ohio to Olive (Jackson) and Joseph Bolser. He graduated Union Township High School, West Chester, Ohio and attended Ohio State University. Homer was a WWII veteran, serving in Europe with the United States Army from 1942- 1945. He received the bronze star medal. Homer farmed in Butler County for 28 years and then worked as CEO at Somerville National Bank. He was a member of Fairfield VFW, Oxford and Hamilton Senior Citizens, and Star Lighters Dance Club. He served on the Butler County Board of Education, the Zoning Board, Dairy Service Unit and Somerville National Bank Board. He was a lifetime member of Farm Bureau and served as a 4-H advisor. He served as an elder for Collinsville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Phoebe (Eiler) Bolser and daughters Kathryn Banks (Jerry) of Somerville and Marcia Schenck (Jim) of South Carolina. He also leaves grandchildren Katie Vogel (Joe), Andrew Banks (Kristine), Rachel Messer (Jared) and Aaron Schenck (Brooke); great-grandchildren Kathryn, Becca, JJ and Molly Vogel, Korynne Banks, Hannah, Ellie, Micah and Eli Messer, Caleb Schenck and Benson Hughes. His brother Wesley Bolser, sister Fern Schmitz, and daughter Rebecca Lee Bolser preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral will be held at 10:30am at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Interment will follow in West Chester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Collinsville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 59, Collinsville, Ohio 45004. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff of Woodland Country Manor for the exceptional care provided to Homer over the past three years.
