

Jimmy Sanders, age 63, of Lebanon passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011. He is at peace and whole again after a courageous battle with illness. He was born in Palo Alto, California on January 19, 1948, the son of the late James D. Sanders and the late Gloria G. Sanders. James served as a U.S. Marine and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was formerly employed by the Nissan Corporation, Bank One of Dayton, and G.E. Card Services. Jimmy is survived by his loving family, wife Bernardine Sanders; his children James D. Sanders III (Vicki); grandaughter Rebecca; Jason Sanders (Holly); grandson Jake; their mother Jane; and Eric Klipfer (Jennifer); grandsons Drew and Nick; Travis Sanders; Ashley Sanders (Rob); granddaughter Riley; their mother Victoria Sanders; sisters Carla Rittue (Ken); Tracy Szilasi (Ken); Kim Florian; and brother Jerry Sanders (Mary Lou). He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, mother in law Nellie Sheppard, brother in law Jon Sheppard, and special friends Gene and Zelene Cooper, Donnie and Bonnie Thomas, and Ron Greene. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 495 Old State Route 122 on Saturday, October 15 at 6:30 pm, dinner to follow in celebration of Jimmy’s life. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation and the Emmanuel Baptist Church vacation Bible school fund. .
