I knew Jim from the time he was an adjuster, both of us burning the midnight oil reading the law.  Jim was always a fabulous person, quiet, compassionate, a real friend.  Rest In Peace, Jim.  You have served God and mankind well.

Jim Scheper was one of the finest lawyers & mediators I have ever had the opportunity to work both against and with. Always compassionate and wise, and truly honorable. I am a better person for having known him.

I was truly sorry to read the passing of a life long friend. His notice triggered all those fun memories of Pi Alpha Phi at Xavier. Please accept my most sinere sympathy on your loss.

Joyce, Scott, Lynn and Anne - I love you so much and loved Jim sooooo much and it was very special for me to have spent his last couple of seconds here with us with him.  He has always been more my brother than brother-in-law.  I will always be here for all of you.  Love you all.

My first job out of high school was as a runner at Baden, Jones, Scheper & Crehan.  I have worked for many attorneys and Mr. Scheper was one of the best.

I had the privilege to work with Jim for many years as a court reporter, and also know him as a friend.  He was a wonderful person who will be missed by all who knew him.  My sincere condolences to his family, whom he spoke of frequently and with much love and affection.

Jim Scheper was truly a gentleman, a scholar and a brilliant trial lawyer. I had many cases with Jim over the years. He was always my opponent. He was a zealous advocate for his clients but an honorable adversary.
Later Jim mediated many caes for me and was always able to get even the tough ones settled.
I will miss him greatly and offer my sincere condolences to Mrs. Scheper ( of whom he always spoke with love) and his family.
