James David "JD" Smith, 65, of Hamilton, passed away January 1, 2017 at Mercy Fairfield Hospital after suffering from a 3yr. battle with thyroid cancer. JD was born on March 16, 1951 in Harlan, KY. He was the son of the late Alin and Delora Garrett Smith. JD is survived by his daughter Melissa Smith Kehayes (William), Grandson Sebastian Kehayes, as well as, many other family and friends. JD worked as a professional painter for Art Evans & Sons. JD was gentle and kind hearted man, who loved his family and friends and UK Basketball. Funeral arrangements are being handled Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011. Funeral Services are Friday, January 6, 2017 at 1PM. Attendees should meet at the cemetery office as this is graveside service only at Rose Hill Burial Park 2421 Princeton Road; Hamilton, OH 45011. Reverend Mason Seevers will perform the graveside service.
