Janet B. (Ervin) Stone, age 81, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with her daughters at her bedside. Born in Butler County, Ohio on January 9, 1945, she was the daughter of George “Bill” and Ida Ervin. On April 22, 1967, Janet married the love of her life, John “Douglas” Stone. They shared 39 devoted years of marriage until his passing in July 2006. Janet’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, her quiet strength, and her unwavering kindness. She is survived by her three children, Michele Stone of Raleigh, North Carolina, Sheri Stone of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Jerry D. Stone of Durham, North Carolina. She also leaves behind her two beloved grand puppies, Teddy and Ida Mae; her brother, Kenneth Ervin; her sister, Judith Ervin; and her “best friend in the whole world,” Ms. Toni Spruill. Funeral Services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, located at Ross Avenue and South “D” Streets in Hamilton, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Her brother, Kenneth Ervin, and his son, Gregory Ervin, will officiate. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
