John D Carey

A dedicated and steadfast man, John worked for Armco Steel for 44 years, a career marked by loyalty and perseverance. He was also a committed Shriner for 60 years and proudly served as a past president, reflecting a long-standing devotion to fellowship and service.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Joanna Carey, his two sons, Daniel Wayne Carey (Kay), Douglas Alan Carey, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

John married his beloved wife, Joanna Carey, at Lindenwald Baptist Church in 1955. Together they shared 71 years of marriage and built a family that remained at the center of his life.

John’s personal interests brought him both enjoyment and purpose. He loved boating, fishing, gardening, gun collecting, and trap shooting—pastimes that spoke to his patient, capable, and steady nature.

Visitation will be at Rose Hill Funeral Home; 2565 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 from 9:00 am until Memorial Services at 10:00am on Monday, April 6th, 2026.
