Judy Kadle Cross was born at Pleasant Run, Fairfield Township, on January 19, 1932, daughter of Walter Kadle and Mary E. Williams Kadle.
She attended Hanover School for a number of years and graduated from Stewart High School in June 1950.
She married Kenneth L. Cross at Oxford Presbyterian Church, Oxford, on August 19, 1950. They shared 56 years of love and happiness together.
To this union, three children were born. Loving son Darrell (Annette) L. Cross of Oxford, devoted son Danny G. Cross of Oxford, and loving daughter Debbie (Douglas) M. Farris of Chandler, AZ; three grandchildren Angie (Bill) M. Adams of Morning Sun, Aran (Sooyon) L. Cross of Campbell, CA, and Anne (Nilesh Shah) L. Cross of Pittsburgh, PA; five dearly loved great grandchildren Chelsea (Justin) Allen, Billy Adams, Natalie Cross, Austin Cross, and Arvin Shah; and one great great grandson Christopher-Jason Allen.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was very proud of her family and they always came first in her life. The times spent with them were her greatest joy.
Judy was raised on a farm and never forgot her country roots. She loved people and always had a warm cheerful smile.
Judy enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, music, reading, needlework, crossword puzzles and water sports. She liked to cook and bake and was an excellent cook.
She and her family spent many happy weekends and vacations at Cumberland Lake at their summer home, water skiing, boating, fishing, and swimming.
She was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church, for over 50 years and taught Sunday School for many years; and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She served as treasurer for the Presbyterian Women of Miami Valley Presbytery 1989-1991 under Mary Todd Hunter. Judy belonged to the Oxford O.E.S #225. She served as Worthy Matron in 1988. She also served as Oxford O.E.S Secretary for ten years.
Judy was chosen to serve as Grand Representative of Ohio to Puerto Rico in 1994-1996. She attended Puerto Rico in Grand Chapter in May 1995 with twenty other O.E.S members and friends of different chapters. She was presented with a lifetime membership to Puerto Rico’s Grand Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Cross on July 22, 2006; her grandson,
Christopher Farris; her parents; two brothers, Melvin Kadle, and Homer Kadle; three sisters Dorothy Heitfield, Alta Kadle, and Margie Henry.
She is survived by her three children and families; brother Merle (Patty) Kadle of Hamilton; sister Margaret Smith of TN; many beloved nieces and nephews whom she deeply cared about; and good friends Anna and Rellon Bennett.
A private family service will be held at Rose Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park. A celebration of life will take place on August 11, 2021 at 5:30 PM at the Oxford Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Main St. Oxford, OH 45056. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Presbyterian Church’s Mission & Outreach.
