Kathy Jo Flannery Blount

Kathy Jo Blount, age 52, of Liberty Township, died on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born on September 8, 1959, in Hamilton, the daughter of Donald D. Flannery and Crystal Ann (Sparks) Flannery. Kathy was a 1977 graduate of Edgewood High School. On April 22, 1978, in Hamilton, Kathy married Scott Douglas Blount. She most recently worked as a Medical Claims Specialist at Workstar. She enjoyed flower gardening, arts and crafts and music. Kathy loved her granddaughters. She was a member of the 5 Gallon Club at the Community Blood Center in West Chester, donating specifically for pediatric patients. Kathy is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Scott Douglas Blount; her mother, Crystal Ann Pierson, and step-father David Pierson of Mansfield, Ohio; daughter, Christa Lynne (Jeffrey) Hobe of West Chester, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kathryn Moira Hobe and Keira Lynne Hobe; brother, Donald Ray (Sandy) Flannery of West Chester, Ohio; step-siblings, Michael (Mary) Pierson of Hamilton and Kimberly (Eddie) Jones of Monroe, Michigan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Donald D. Flannery. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011, from 6-7:30pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Services will follow at 7:30pm with Rev. Barb Hobe officiating. The family suggests making a blood donation in Kathy’s memory by contacting the Community Blood Center in West Chester at 513-777-4428 or by becoming an organ donor.
