Kenneth Willson Jacques, born in Cleveland on November 8, 1962, to Henry and Betty Jacques, went to his eternal home on June 28, 2026, after a long battle with brain cancer. Ken will be remembered for his great love for his family and his deep trust in Jesus.
Ken grew up and graduated high school in Rocky River, Ohio. His commitment to hustle and hard work earned him co-captain honors on his high school football team and helped finance his Mechanical Engineering degree at Ohio State University. After college, Ken made a career at GE Aircraft Engines, retiring in 2023 after 37 years of service.
Ken married fellow Buckeye, Wendy, and they had two children, Jenna and David. Fatherhood was Ken’s favorite “job.” His kids will tell you he was humble, encouraging, involved, faithful, long-suffering, and joyful.
When Ken’s younger brother died suddenly at 25, God taught Ken how to number his days and that He is our anchor in storms. Ken drew on these lessons when diagnosed with brain cancer in 2011. His faith never wavered, but strengthened. He trusted God for the future, praying boldly – and against earthly odds – that he would have time to parent his kids to adulthood and be present for graduations and weddings. And he was!
Ken saw each day as a gift to be used to serve God and others, which he did faithfully. Ask him how he was and you would hear, “Fantastic!” Ken’s joy was found not in his circumstances but in his Savior. Recently, when facing a fifth recurrence of the tumor and another round of treatment, Ken declared: “No matter how this goes, I win!” reflecting his firm belief that the end of this earthly life is the beginning of a much better one with no more sickness, sorrow, or death.
Ken is survived by wife Wendy; children Jenna (Jacob) Graver and David (Hannah and “Baby J”) Jacques; parents Henry and Betty Jacques; siblings Kevin (Merrill) Jacques, Susan (Dave) Craig, nieces Alex Craig, Tania Craig, and Jordan Jacques, and nephew Henry Jacques. He is reunited in heaven with brother and best buddy David.
