Lamar B. Bowcock, 82, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, April 15 at Hospice of Hamilton. Lamar was born on July 11, 1932 in Corbin, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse L. and Catherine Gilbert Bowcock; wife, Carol on Nov. 23, 2014; brother, Jesse Bowcock III and son, L. L. Bowcock. Lamar is survived by his sisters, Katherine (Willie) Jones of Indian Springs and Betty B. Stiver of Fairfield. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1949 until 1952 when he was honorably discharged. For over 50 years, Lamar owned and operated Carpets by Lamar. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Hamilton and Lamar's caregiver, Nell Bowlin and her family.
