OLDFIELD, Lester T. age 90, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 12:00 noon. He was born in Hazel Green, KY, on February 2, 1923 to Luther and Nora (Blankenship) Oldfield. Lester was drafted into the United States Army during WWII, where he served in several positions and ranks. Among them he was a Staff Sargent and a Military Policeman. He was wounded in Europe and was awarded the Purple Heart. After serving in the military Lester moved to Hamilton/Middletown area to seek employment. While in the area, he met and soon married Patsy Bailey on June 26, 1953. Lester was employed at the Fischer Body Fairfield Plant for 37 years, retiring in 1987. Lester was a very active member of the Princeton Pike Church of God, served on the church and pastor's council, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, usher, and various other positions through the years. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Patsy Oldfield, of Hamilton; two sons, Doug (Theresa) Oldfield, of Hamilton, and Tim (Becky) Oldfield, of Grove City; five grandchildren, Tracey (Flint) Jewell, Steven (Ashley) Oldfield, David (Erin) Oldfield, Michael (Damaris) Oldfield, and Jonathan Oldfield; six great-grandchildren, Logan Jewell, Cooper Oldfield, Delaney Oldfield, Graham Oldfield, Austin Jewett, and Brayden Jewett; his sisters, Josephine (Oldfield) Cole, Betty (Oldfield) Nickel, and Virginia (Oldfield) Oakley; sister in law Juanita (John) Eversole, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Vernon Oldfield, Austin Oldfield, Ralph Oldfield, Delbert Oldfield, and his sister Wilma (Oldfield) Patrick.
