Lillie Cunagin, age 98, of McKee, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026. She was born in Grayhawk, Kentucky on May 23, 1928, to the union of Taylor Flannery and Dessie Mays. Lillie was a homemaker who worked tirelessly at creating and maintaining her family’s most cherished moments. She was a good Christian woman who loved Jesus and her family. She showed great compassion when filling the role of caregiver to her son, David, until his passing, exhibiting true dedication to parenthood. In her spare time, Lillie enjoyed quilting, yard sales (attending and hosting), and planting trees. Her family jokingly referred to her as being “Johnny Appleseed.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Curt; her sons, James, and David; her sons-in-law, Billy, and Everett; her sisters, Minnie, Della, Dovie, Ida, Virgie, Gracie, Dorothy, and Wanda; her grandchildren, Tina Angel and her brother Terry, Ricky and Darin Brewer.
Lillie leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Peggy Cunigan, Patty Brewer, and Sandra Young; brother, Gerald Flannery; sister, Dema Lee; 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren (with one “on the way”), and 12 great great-grandchildren, all who will miss her dearly, but continue to carry on Lillie’s legacy of inspiring others.
Visitation will be held at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011 on Monday, August 10, 2026, beginning at 11:00am until time of services, beginning at 12:00pm. Pastor Josh Couch, officiating.
