

Lucy Etta Howard, age 93, of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 in West Union. She was born on August 6, 1918 in McKee, KY, daughter of the late Jesse and Maggie (Wathen) Gabbard. In 1936, Lucy married her husband of over 35 years, Ray Howard, Sr., and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1972. She was a housekeeper at Miami University for many years. Lucy is survived by her sons, Robert Howard, William (Janet) Howard, Ray Howard, Jr. and Gregory (Diane) Howard; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Taulbee, Georgia Carlton, Effie Wilson, Yvonne (Jack) Gorham and Judy (Ted) Ebbing; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Nugent and seven siblings. Funeral Services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 3pm with Jason Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2pm until the time of the service.
