Marie Collins Gabbard

Marie Gabbard, age 73 of New Miami, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. She was born on March 13, 1939 in Independence, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John and Corrine (Sturgeon) Collins. On February 26, 1955 in Independence, Kentucky, Marie married her husband of over 55 years, William Gabbard, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2010. She most recently attended Timber Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton. Marie is survived by her three children, Theresa (Ralph) Lindsey, Bill (Charlene) Gabbard and Tracy (Dennis) Boles; nine grandchildren, Ray (Sherri), Kim (Casey), Tracy (Ben), Emma (Eric), Johnathan (Miranda), Tara, John, Misty (Steve) and Wayne; great-grandchildren, Mindy, Alex, Bella, Lauren, Laney, Hali, Brooke, Clinton, Cameron, Emmalee, Miles, Aiden, Kaylee, Seth, Jacob, Abby, Lilly, Kendel, Mason, Landon, Brody, Tyler, Samantha, Zach and 2 more on the way; five siblings, Pete (Sandy) Collins, LaVerne Driskell, Elaine (Vernon) Willoughby, Diane Bach and Johnny Ray (Debbie) Collins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold Collins; and son-in-law, Raymond Barger. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses on the CVU wing at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 12noon at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton with Pastor Mike Carmody officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 11am until 12noon at the funeral home.
