How fortunate are those of us who were blessed to know Mary and walk the earth or ride through her garden on the gator with her. She knew more about plants than anyone I know and was so kind to share it. When I wanted something unusual, she was the first place I looked because she most likely had the plant, and the trip to the garden was also a gift.

Thanks for saying, Sherri, that she saw the spring, which sounds as lovely as it was here in Louisville. Losing the people we love always leaves a hole in our hearts, but they are a treasure in our minds forever. I am deeply sorry for you and your whole family.

What an amazing woman. Mary's knowledge of plants was encyclopedic, her energy boundless, her enthusiasm contagious. I always looked forward each spring to my first trip to Mary's Plant Farm. I never knew what treasures I would find or what pronouncements I would hear, but always cherished the entire experience.

My sympathy to Sherri and family.

For several years Mary's Garden hosted a lovely early fall event where artists were invited to show their work among the beautiful gardens. I loved participating, and I remember how welcoming and supportive Mary was as she visited all of us, driving her magic cart. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet her. She was a very special person.

She certainly “beautified” many gardens. Four decades enjoyed going to see Mary. Another family tradition I am very thankful we had. She inspired me to do better, work harder, and plant more flowers. I will fondly remember Mary Harrison and Ethel Belk for generously sharing their vast gardening information with me. My sympathies to her loving family.

What a wonderful lady she was! I have never known anyone who had as much passion as she did about her life, her family, her gardens and plants. Not only did she teach me so much about planting and gardening...she taught me about perserverance and hard work. Wnenever I get tired and want to give up...I think of her and how she kept going. She was filled with love and knowledge. So sorry, Sherry and Manda... you will miss her but she will always be with us as long as we can walk in our gardens and see all the beautiful plants we got from her.

Smartest and most knowledgeable lady. It was fun to see your daily planning and the beautiful gardens you and Sherri created. The gardeners in our area will never forget your advise and knowledge. Thank you, Mary!

We’ve been frequenting Mary’s for 17 years and have several beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers from her. We always loved talking with her - she was full of horticultural knowledge, and loved sharing stories. We were extremely impressed with her energy and her unwillingness to give up. She’s definitely going to be missed. We are so sorry Sherri. You and your mom have become a constant in our gardening lives.

I loved visiting Mary and her beautiful plant farm. She was so much fun to talk to and so knowledgeable about flowers, trees, and shrubs! She was always eager to talk to customers and educate them about plants. The world has lost a kind and wonderful person.

My sympathy to Sherri, Paul, and all of Mary's family.
