Mary Jane Hoskins Vastola, age 76, of Hamilton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2025. Born on February 8, 1949, she was the cherished daughter of Everett and Mary Lou (Heitsman) Hoskins.
A proud graduate of Hamilton Taft High School, Class of 1967, Mary Jane continued her education at the University of Cincinnati. She dedicated more than 30 years of faithful service to the Butler County Treasurer’s Office before retiring in 2013.
Mary Jane was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and her life was firmly rooted in faith and love. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton and more recently worshipped at Hamilton Christian Center.
Family was at the heart of Mary Jane’s life. She found her greatest joy in gathering with loved ones, especially during the holidays. Her famous Christmas brunch—where everyone arrived in pajamas—became a beloved family tradition and a highlight of the year.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Mike; her brother, Timothy Hoskins; and her children: Julie Reist Hobbs (Chris) of Springboro, OH; Patrick Reist (Kristin) of Priceville, AL; and Mary Elizabeth Turner Corpuz (Tony) of Liberty Township, OH. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Valerie Ann Vastola of Liberty Township, OH; Michael J. Vastola (Judith) of Del Rio, TX; Anthony Vastola (Rachel) of Wichita, KS; and Michele Williams (Eugene) of Trenton, OH.
Mary Jane was a loving grandmother to Audrey Hobbs, Grace Hobbs, Payton Reist, Barrett Reist, Alaina Corpuz, Libby Corpuz, Mac Corpuz, Michael L. Vastola, Rafael Vastola, Adalida Vastola, Corinne Williams, Trinity Williams, Braiden Williams, Melyssa Robles, and Maritssa Robles. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Zara Benitez. She also leaves behind her uncle, Jack Heitsman, niece, Amie Mendelsohn (Chad); nephew, Jon Hoskins and many more family and friends, all of whom were dear to her.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Monday, June 30 at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Chapel Princeton Road Hamilton, Ohio starting at 9:00 am, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 am with Pastor Johnny Wade Sloan of Hamilton Christian Center presiding. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Mary Jane’s warmth, faith, and joyful spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
