Mike was born in Hamilton, Ohio and the first son of his beloved parents the late Albert and Ruth (Allen) McGuire. Mike has two sons, Christopher McGuire of Minnesota and Brian McGuire of Hamilton, Ohio. Mike was preceded in death by his son's mother, and first wife, Glenda McGuire (Helton). Mike was remarried to Helen McGuire (Marcum) and step-children, Nicky and Clark Marcum. Mike was so very proud of his three brothers; Todd McGuire (Brenda McGuire), Ted McGuire (Jamie McGuire) the late Timothy McGuire. He so loved his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Michael attended the University of Cincinnati and Miami University and received his B.S. in T.V. Broadcasting. Mike started his career working as a camera man, record production specialist, T.V. studio technician and hosted several T.V. talk shows including the Hamilton High School T.V. broadcasting class (cable 11, the "Mike McGuire Show"). Mike taught this class for 9 years and was so very proud of his student's accomplishments. While Mike attended Miami University he also trained and received his small plane pilot license. After the Crickets, Mike was a vital musician in other bands including; The Operation, Blue Eyed Soul, Big In Iowa and Living Large (Blues). He supported many other musicians and groups throughout his musical career. Later in his career, after teaching, Mike worked as a Real Estate Agent for Re/Max 100 Realty and retired after a full, meaningful, and "colorful" life. Mike was an avid outdoor enthusiast. His passion for the outdoors began as a long childhood member of the Boy Scouts of America (Fort Hamilton district) where he received his rant of "Life Scout". By far my favorite teacher and mentor as well but even more a dear friend. I always enjoy looking back on all the memories. Yes and even the ones where maybe a practical joke went astray and hearing Mike screaming at the top of his lungs MONGO!!!!!! Rest in peace Michael you will definitely be missed my friend. My family's thoughts and prayers are with the McGuire family.

I knew Mike growing up and all through our school years. He was a good man and we talked occasionally on Facebook. I'm very sorry for your loss. May God bless your entire family.

To say Mike was a friend is an understatement.
He was my mentor. Ever since before I had a
driver's license, when he would pick me up in
his car and take me to see his band play, little
did I know I would go on to tour the country
with him years later. He was not simply a friend.
He was, to me, a life-changer and was a human
being I simply could not help but look up to. I know
all the family and I also know they know every word
I am saying is spoken from the heart. Thank-you, Mike,
for each and everything you've done in your life to
make my life a better one. God Bless!

I don’t know where to begin. Mike mentored our band, The Patriots. For this I’m forever grateful. Mike called me one day to tell me he bought a parachute. Within an hour I was tethered to the back of his pickup truck, flying 100 feet in the air. Many fond memories of the cabin at Lake Cumberland. Crazy days.
Thanks for the many memories.
