

Michael E. Pendergrass, age 75, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Born on August 25, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, Michael lived a life defined by service, hard work, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family and his country.
Michael proudly served the United States during the Vietnam War as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the United States Air Force. He served honorably and was discharged in 1974. His military service reflected the deep sense of duty and patriotism that remained with him throughout his life.
Following his military career, Michael, as a gifted mechanic, became a respected leader in the automotive industry. He successfully managed several high-end tire stores throughout the Tri-State area, including Pep Boys, and proudly owned and operated his own tire store, Fairfield Tire, in Fairfield, Ohio. He took great pride in his work earning the respect of both his colleagues and customers through his knowledge, dedication, and integrity.
While Michael enjoyed a successful career, his greatest passion was aviation. He loved flying and anything related to airplanes. He spent many treasured hours in the skies with the Hogan brothers in Hamilton, Ohio, and even enjoyed a brief career as a flight attendant with Mesaba Airlines, a division of Northwest Airlines. His enthusiasm for aviation was only matched by his love of flying kites, riding motorcycles, and admiring hot rod cars.
Above all else, Michael cherished his family. His greatest joy was spending time with those he loved, especially his son, Jeffrey. He had an incredible sense of humor and was the ultimate jokester, always ready with a witty remark or playful prank that could leave everyone laughing until they cried. His infectious smile, generous heart, and ability to create joy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his brothers, Howard and Paul; and his sisters, Dorothy, Bernice, and Phyllis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his devoted son, Jeffrey Michael Pendergrass (Amy); his loving sister, Carol Buchanan; his treasured grandchildren, Brea Fister (Nathan), Samantha Pendergrass, and Cameron Pendergrass; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whom he loved deeply.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Michael’s life during visitation on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Dana Pendergrass.
In honor of Michael’s love for his country and his proud military service, the family kindly requests that those attending wear red, white, and blue as a tribute to his patriotism.
Although Michael’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, compassion, humor, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to live on for generations to come.
