Michael R. “Mick” Rhodus of North Ft. Myers, Florida and Hamilton, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026. He was born to Burdette R. “Burt” and Ada M. (Roark) Rhodus on December 3, 1941. His parents preceded him in death. He was married May 28, 1970 to his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathleen Ann (O’Brien) Rhodus. He is survived by his three cherished children, Michelle Kathleen (Rhodus) Baxter (Timothy P. Baxter), Timothy Michael Rhodus, and Steven Matthew Rhodus (Bethany J. Gray). Additionally, he is survived by five adored grandchildren, Ann Marie Baxter, Katherine Elizabeth Baxter, Caroline Margaret Baxter, Isabel Kathleen Rhodus, and Davis Michael Joseph Rhodus. Mick is also survived by two loving siblings, Sylvia Sue (Rhodus) Lakes (Harry) and Robert B. “Bob” Rhodus (Marcia). We would be remiss if we didn’t include his bonus brother and sister-in-law, Martin Banar and Charlene Banar. Mick is also survived by four very special nieces and nephews, Lisa (Lakes) Cloran, Constance (Lakes) Heimer, Bradley Rhodus, and Matthew Rhodus. Mick served his country as a Marine, from 1960-1964, and completed his service with honor and dedication. Mick was very proud of his time spent at ARMCO/AK Steel as a Production Planner. He worked tirelessly for the company for 30 years until his retirement in 1995. His “Can Do” attitude provided the company with a reliable, responsible, and dependable team member. Everyone knew that you could count on Mick Rhodus. Mick was always kind, loving, and most of all, generous with his time and talents. We could always find him on the field as a Flag Football coach and as a Soccer Coach for Tim and Steven at the Hamilton YMCA. He also enjoyed his time on the board at the Hamilton YMCA. Mick was happy and honored to serve in both capacities! You could always count on him for a smile, an encouraging word, a hug, a kiss, and an I love you. He instilled in his children to love their country, and to love and care deeply for others. Above all else, family was the most important thing to him. He loved his family abundantly and without limits. We were very fortunate to call him Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Papoo, and Papaw Mick. To know him is to love him. We will miss him immensely.
