Minerva P. Abbott, age 89 of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. She was born on October 25, 1933 in Stanford, KY, the daughter of the late Adam M. and Peachie (Baughman) Pence. On September 15, 1956 in Hamilton, Minerva married her husband of almost 40 years, Joseph C. Abbott, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1996. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Minerva is survived by her daughters, Paula Abbott, Linda (Paul) DiBenedetto, and Nancy Abbott; grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Kara, Chris, Zach, and Akira; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ayriana, Kennedy, Kale, Taylor, Ashton, and Shawn; and sisters, Sarah Moore and Josephine Salter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Effie, Adam, Morgan, Harry, and Nancy; and half-siblings, E.T. and Peachie Margaret. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Minerva’s name to the Joseph C.
