Opal Vogelsong, age 92 of Fairfield, passed away at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was born March 31, 1921 to John and Dovie (Peters) Stephenson. Opal was employed at Ohio Casualty. She was a founding member of Freedom Chapel, where she served as the organist and pianist.
She is survived by her daughters, Lita Jo (Larry) Coleman and Donna Kay Chitwood; sister, Dorothy (Samuel) Van Natta; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-granchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Paul Emmitt Vogelsong; son, Paul Eddie Vogelsong; and grandson, Donald Jo Vogelsong.
