

On August 18, 1940, the late Lottie and Frank Melton of Bartlick, Virginia, welcomed a son whom they named Oscar Lee. At the age of 12 gave his life to the Lord and lived for him 60 years until he made his heavenly transition on Saturday November 10th.
On April 11th, 1959 he married Hazel Maxine Allison of Detroit, MI and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this past April. He was a loving and proud father to two daughters; Rebecca Ann, born on May 22, 1960 and Crystal Joyce, born on April 27, 1964.
Served in the Army and was a musician & singer.
Worked as a dedicated Class A Machinist and a Power Generation Technician for General Electric in Riverview, MI from 1968 - 2005 and retired in Fairfield, OH after 37 years of work.
He loved this country and always gave honor to the men & women who served, the mountains of Virginia, Bluegrass Music, Ralph Stanley, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Detroit Tiger baseball, skittles & salt water taffy, and was truly the ultimate NASCAR racing fan. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan, Zion Lodge No. 1, achieved the level of Master Mason, 32nd degree and was a member of the Valley of Detroit Scottish Rite.
He is preceded in death by his father Frank Melton and mother Lottie Sarlouis, sister Susie Johnson.
He has left in this life to celebrate his transition: Wife Maxine Melton, two daughters, Rebecca Ann Hill and Crystal Joyce Burgor (Steve). He was a proud Papaw to five granddaughters; Jenna Lauren Hill, Olivia Kellyn Hill, Lindsay Christina Burgor, Kelsey Rebecca Burgor, and Allyson Joy Burgor. Siblings Maxine McGivern and Evelyn Gaye Cooper of Jamestown, TN, and Paul Melton of Gibraltar, MI and loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
