He was a graduate of Mcguffey High School in Oxford, Ohio and served in the United States Army. He was employed by Champion Paper for 40 years, retiring in 1990. Mr. Wilhelm (Ron) was a dedicated member of Amvets Post 1983, serving as Commander, as well as holding other offices. He worked tirelessly and honorably to assist his fellow veterans. Ron (aka Hot Dog) was an avid fastpitch softball player and was inducted into the Ohio Fastpitch Hall of Fame in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Marie Wilhelm, his wife, Jane (Buell) Wilhelm, his son, Mark and brothers, Pete, Vernon, Dale, Donald, Herald, Gerald and sister, Marlene (Wilhelm) Nichting. He is survived by son, Michael (Jenifer) Wilhelm and daughter, Lisa (Joseph) McCaughey, grandchildren Emily (Mark) Riley, Hannah McCaughey, Samantha Wilhelm, Katy (Patrick) Truett and Adam Wilhelm, and great-granddaughter, Addison Truett. Also survived by his brother, Marvin Wilhelm, brother-in-law, David Nichting (Sharon) and special cousin, Joan Park, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Gathering for family and friends will be held on Tuesday August 14, 2018 from 5-7pm at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with services to follow at 7pm.
