Sarah Bell Ashcraft, age 83, died peacefully on January 23, 2014 at Tri-County Extended Care. Sarah was born to Harrison and Leida Smith on April 22, 1930 in Clay County, Kentucky. Sarah was the beloved wife of George A. Ashcraft who preceded her in death in June 2012. They enjoyed 43 wonderful years together. Sarah was part of a unique group of women that had met for "card club" at least once a month for over 50 years, not much card playing just eating and great camaraderie. Sarah was a very caring woman who always put others before herself and was always there to give a helping hand. Sarah was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She is survived by two brothers, Robert Woods (Armenda) Smith and Reginald (June) Smith, by her daughter, Patricia (Darius) Collins, and two grandchildren, Samuel and Elisabeth Collins, whom she dearly loved. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. Her parents; one brother, Ray C. Smith; and two sisters, Kathleen Warren and Ethel Parsons also preceded her in death. The family wants to give a special thanks to everyone at Tri-County Extended Care for their understanding and caring, with a special thanks to her aide Crissy. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati or to the charity of one's choice.
