Steve A. Powell of Hamilton, born August 3, 1979 at Fort Hamilton Hughes died October 1, 2011 at 12:05am. Stevie was loved by all who knew him. He loved music. His sense of humor made you laugh and his laugh alone brought a smile to your face. He was the first to help in time of needs. Stevie wasn’t afraid to eat the last “donut” because he loved good food. He tried to dance but never mastered it (lol). Stevie did master his loyalty and love for his family. He was a Colts fan and enjoyed doing outdoor activities. He loved animals, dogs were his favorite, but then again, he brought every critter home as a child asking “mommy, can we keep it?” I usually gave in. Stevie worked at Serta for awhile. The guys he worked with said he was the practical joker but made their day. Stevie was never the lazy one, more of a motivator, and looked at life in a positive way, always trying to better things. He spoke the truth even if you didn’t like it. He would say, “What? You want me to lie to you?” His heart was compassionate to the less fortunate. Stevie use to cut old-man Williams lawn on Reservoir Street and would just sit for hours and talk to him on the porch. He said he was lonely. Stevie took time to think of others. All that he is and will always be will live on in our hearts forever. Our son and best friend. Love Mom and Dad and Family.
Stevie is survived by wife, Kristy Star Powell; mother, Maggie Still and stepdad, Guy; father, Steve Powell and stepmom, Niecy; three brothers, Ramsey Powell and Donna Caldwell, Randy Shockey and wife Crysta, and Tony Powell and Marrisa Armendariz; two sisters, Tonya Hancock and Priscilla Moore and husband Andy; special aunt, Brenda Sue and Pops; grandmal Lucille Powell; Uncle Tom Powell and wife Donna; aunts, Molly Karol, Thelma Williams and Cristina Powell; cousins, Tessa Rae, Olivia, Rachel and Lorin, Ronald and Denny Johnson, Theresa and Michael Powell, D.J. and Alex of Trenton; Joe and Chris Powell, Tommy Evans, Patty Barnickel, Jimmy Hayden, Theresa and Angie of Lexington, Kentucky; great aunts, Judy Cromer and Linda Capparella of Pennsylvania; special friends of family, Mary Beth Bowling, John and Linda Weber (who have been a blessing), childhood “best friend” Franky aka “Gump” and his son Hunter and niece Kylee whom Stevie loved like his own; nephews and nieces, Devan Lee Johnaton, Lilly Belle, Lil-Randy and Caedin Guy, Maggie, Emily, Jordan and Alyssa of Tennessee.
