Alexander Auchinvole
October 16, 1947 – October 25, 2016
After a shot illness graduated to glory to be with the Lord. Loving husband of Evelyn for 51 years, our motto was "You and me against the world"; Devoted father to James (Janice), Alison (Kevin and Alexander Jr. (Melanie); Proud grandfather to Robert (Paige) and Aaron and great grandfather to Arianna; Brother to James and Robin Buchanan. Alexander was a quiet soul who was knowledgeable in current affairs, sports history and its statistics following his favorite soccer team, Newcastle United Football Club. Employed at Stelco/U.S. Steel for 40 years, he was a member of Local 1005 United Steelworkers serving on grievance matters and contract negotiations for the rank and file. Alexander loved live musical performances enjoying the local Hamilton music scene. The Pipes and Drums of the Argyll and Sutherland 91st Highlanders Princess Patricia (Cda.) and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders 8th Bn. (U.K.) were close to his heart. He was also an avid reader of crime fiction.

we musicians always knew that, when Sandy was present
at a gig, he had the best ears in the room; always listening intently, always appreciating and praising the creativity of the musical moments, always with that shining smile . . . more than a 'fan' . . . more a presence as family . . . always with us, and now in spirit.
all love and strength to the family,
Richard Keelan, Hamilton ON.

Dear Evie and family, many years have gone by since we met. Many memories have also gone by which will be recalled with both laughter and tears. Sandy will always remain close by. I know that for sure. Love, Karen

Dear Evie, Alison, James and Alex,
You have lost a loving husband and father and I have lost a loving friend. I will miss him more deeply than I can say. I will always remember Sandy as one of Brian's greatest buddies who shared his love of boxing and music in equal measure. I will picture them together, always.
In the days that come, know you are not alone. The thoughts and prayers of your loved ones and friends will surround and protect you and there is no safer place to be. Know that I am here for you.
With love always, Eudene
