Alex was a good person to work with at the old TH&B. 50 years ago he did the station audit when I was in Brantford and then when I went dispatching in Hamilton we met often. After our retirements, we shared good memories at the retirees breakfast meetings. I am glad I knew him

I was lucky to be afforded the legacy friendship with Alex (and Violet), left behind by my Father, Allan Stokes. Alex and I were email buddies over the miles. His intellect and humour were always appreciated. We are very sorry for your loss. Pam Stokes and Brian Comerford - and Mom, Elly Stokes.

It brings our family such joy that you were able to meet Barrett during a summer trip home in 2017, and share Christmas together in 2018 where we got to announce you would be a Great Grandfather for a second time.
Rest in peace Alex ❤

Once I learned that Alex liked to dance, there was no stopping him! It was a pleasure to dance with him to "Tennessee Waltz" and "Roses are Red" almost every week. I will miss his charming smile. My condolences to his family.
