Alison was pre-deceased by her parents William and Doris Blache-Fraser (Gittens), her brother Stanley Blache-Fraser, and her former husband Barrie Turner. Alison will be deeply missed by many, especially her family - the Blache Frasers and Hinksons in Trinidad and the Turners, Browns and Verbaans in Canada.
Alison immigrated to Canada in 1967 and lived for 25 years in Vancouver before relocating to Hamilton in 1992, where she found a strong sense of community in her wide group of friends through her work at Scotia Bank, her dedication to the church community and her volunteerism with VON. She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle, warm ways, her wonder of nature and her enthusiasm and gratitude for all that life had to offer.
In keeping with Alison's wishes, a cremation has taken place. Her funeral service will be held at Barton Stone-Mount Hope United Church, 21 Stone Church Road West Hamilton on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 1pm, with a reception to follow. We invite those who knew Alison to come together, both in person and virtually, to share stories and find solace in each other's company during this time of remembrance.
