Andre’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved daughter, Ashley. She was his pride, his purpose, and his deepest source of happiness. He was also a devoted son to Denise, and a cherished brother to Lorraine, Celine, Estelle, Sylvie, and Carol. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Andre will also be fondly remembered by Margaret and Penny.
A countryman at heart, Andre lived a life defined by generosity, loyalty, and quiet strength. He wore his heart on his sleeve for the people he loved. Whether surrounded by family and friends, strumming his guitar, or simply sharing laughter, Andre was most at peace when connected to the ones he cared for. Humble and grounded, he was the kind of man you could always count on — a steady presence in times of need, a source of warmth and humour, and someone who left an imprint on everyone who knew him.
Visitation will take place at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Tuesday, August 19, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Cremation to follow. A celebration of Andre’s life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Andre’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society. Messages of condolence may be sent to the funeral home, to be lovingly gathered for the family to cherish and reflect on in the days ahead.
Wherever you are, Andre, you will always be in our hearts 🖤
