

She was born in Castelbasso, Abruzzo, Italy on December 3, 1930 to Felice and Fioralba Rocci. Anna grew up in Castelbasso, where she developed a love for cooking, and she was meticulous with everything she touched.
After arriving from Italy, she worked numerous jobs and spent most of her time working in housekeeping at St. Joe’s Hospital and Hamilton General Hospital. She was respected for her strong work ethic, and her kindness toward others.
In 1956, she married Ercole Flammini, and together they built a loving home and in their later years enjoyed vacationing in Cuba and visiting family in Italy. Together, they raised their only child, Pia.
Anna will be remembered for her cooking, cleanliness, and her loving and friendly demeanor. She also enjoyed playing cards and going out with friends.
Anna is survived by her daughter Pia and her husband Alfonse Zaccaria, her grandchildren Andrea (Michael) Catalano and Amanda (Dave) Cuffaro and great-grandchildren Avery and Kai Catalano, Leo and Giuliana Cuffaro. She was preceded in death by her siblings, the late Franco (late Lucia) Rocci, late Cesare (late Enia) Rocci, late Amalia (late Ermando) DeIuliis and the late Giuseppe (Bettina) Rocci. Dear sister-in-law to the late Pasquale (late Giuseppina) Flammini, late Cesare (late Franca) Flammini, late Vincenzo (Ida) Flammini, late Alfredo (Algisa), and the late Maria (Late Giovanni) Perpetuini. Anna will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and Belgium.
She enjoyed living at the Chartwell Waterford Retirement Residence for the last 3 years. She made many friends, shared many laughs and participated in the daily activities. Thanks to the Waterford management and staff for enriching her life. Also, a special thanks to the nursing staff and Dr. Obeid for meeting her needs and support when her health deteriorated.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jenna (Nurse Practitioner), Dr. Kazem and the Palliative care staff (Unit 1) at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their kindness, compassion and ultimate support to Anna and our family.
Resting at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton for visitation on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 165 Prospect Street North, Hamilton on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum.
