Anto Stipic

Beloved husband of Mara (nee Josipovic) for 48 years. Dear father of Slavica (Josip), Katarina (Bobby) and Ilija (Marija). Loving and proud Dido of Marina, Dario, Viktoria and Marija.

Dear brother of Mara Josipovic (Pero) and brother-in-law Ivan Josipovic. Predeceased by his parents Ilija and Slavka Stipic, sisters Manda Jukic (the late Mato), Kaja Josipovic, and brother Jakov Stipic. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, kumovi and friends in Canada, United States and Europe.

Anto was a member of Napredak, and was involved in the Croatian men’s bocce and bowling leagues where he made many lasting friendships. He found joy in gardening as well as working on many building and woodworking projects. He had a love for playing the accordion, valued his Croatian heritage and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Resting at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton for visitation on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Parish, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
