Loving mother of David (Sandra), Laurie (Dennis), Cathy (John) and Michael (Marianne). Dear sister of Jean McCann and Helen Hewitt and sister-in-law of Joe and Joanie Mattina. Cherished grandmother of Abby (Dan), Sarah, Patrick (Megan), Erin (Dan), Laura and Kailyn.
Barbara will be fondly missed by her nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends. Profound gratitude is extended to St. Joseph's Home Care Nursing, CCAC, Dr. Selbie and the amazing team of nurses and caregivers at St. Peter's Hospital Palliative Care 3 East for their compassion and professionalism. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in Barbara's memory. To honour Barbara's wishes, cremation has already taken place.
Visitation will take place at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E. (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday, May 29th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Vigil prayers to be said at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 63 Hwy 20 East, Stoney Creek on Thursday, May 30th at 11am.
