Barbara Joan St. Denis

ST. DENIS, Barbara Joan (nee Wilkinson) September 20, 1935 - January 7, 2013 It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Barbara in her 78th year. She leaves behind her husband Larry of 52 years and son Rick, her sister Marlene Cole, brother Don Wilkinson (Glennis) and her brothers-in-law Hector and Norm St. Denis (Ann). Barbara was predeceased by her brother Gord Wilkinson (Barb). She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. Larry would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff of Juravinski Hospital and St. Peter's who compassionately cared for Barbara. Larry appreciated the guidance and support from the doctors and nurses who explained to him the effects cancer was having on his wife, "I cannot express to you what your help has done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." Barbara was born in Hamilton and lived most of her life here. She worked at the Hamilton Wentworth Police Department, YWCA and with her husband at their Valu Mart in Brantford. One of Barbara's passions was both playing and watching tennis, as well as many other sports. Over the years she enjoyed travelling with Larry to golf tournaments - Hawaii being her favorite place. Family was important and when gatherings occurred, Barb received and shared the experiences that all would bring. Visitation will take place at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Friday, January 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 12th at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would appreciated.
