Four years ago, at this time, I looked into your eyes and thought how bright and shiny those big blue eyes were. I believe you were already seeing heaven.

I believe the sky in Vancouver, BC is remembering Bart today as it's just as sunny as it was 4 years ago today when dear Bart left us. Or maybe Bart himself is sending us a New Year greeting. I surely hope for the latter. Gone but not forgotten.

Although we were never close friends, I always  appreciated the positivity and laughter he brought to everyone at Cardinal Newman.   You were kind to everyone, and knew how to have the best times at any given situation. Having the memories of him in our wood shop class will never get old.

We at Alpha Anchor and Pile continue to miss Bart for his extraordinary skills as a diver and fabricator but most of all, he was a pleasure to work with. To his loved ones our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy.

About a year ago when I met him for the first time at my sister’s, we chatted for sometimes about welding under water, how it works and the equipment, I found him full of passion for what he does and how impressive is his line of work.
Later on June went to his workplace, where he picked up his boat and took us for a wild ride on the ocean waves. That day he dove underwater for at least half an hour and came back up with seafood, cracked them open and cooked them on his little stove on the boat while watching the sunset. I realized what an interesting character, full of energy and a real people pleaser. He gave us such a great experience that day and he seemed so free and detached from any concerns or sadness.
As time passed by, we got more and more acquainted, especially recently which made me start thinking and mentioning how similar minded we are and that I am very happy to know him and would like to hang out with him a lot more.
Why sometimes we are so slow at realizing who are the good friends and when we do why do we delay spending more time with them knowing how short life is.
Bartosz had a great impact on our lives on many aspects. I leaned from him to be free, don’t take life too seriously, be happy and show the ones close to me that I care and love them all the time.
You left us too early, God bless your soul brother and rest in peace

I met Bart in summer of 2021 through Eela his latest girlfriend and my boyfriend’s sister. From the start spending time with him seem like an effortless adventure. He was easy-going, fun, and entertaining. My favorite memory is when the 4 of us spend a beautiful sunny day on Bart’s boat driving down to Horseshoe Bay from West Vancouver and back. 
However, the memory I would like to share is about his last Christmas of 2021. We were hosting a close family Christmas party and had fun sharing food, stories, taking pictures, exchanging presents, silly dancing and singing! Yes, singing! I was pleasantly surprised that we both shared liking for “Queen” and when “Bohemian Rhapsody” start playing, Bart and me both tuned into singing with Freddy on top of our lungs:
“Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landside,
No escape from reality
Open your eyes,
Look up to the skies and see…” 
…and we kept on singing till the end of the song. 
At the end of the evening, when everyone was heading towards elevator and Bart realized that I am staying behind, he looked back at me and said, “you are not coming with us?” I said “no, there is not enough room in the car”. I sensed when that he was contemplating if he should turn back and give me a “good-bye hug”, so I reassured him, “it’s okay I get you next time” and I stretched out my arms laughing and said, “here is a virtual hug for you!”. He laughed too and did the same thing in return. 
And this is a memory that keeps bringing tears to my eyes every time I think about it now…little did I know that there will be no next time, and this would be the last time, I saw Bart alive. 
Dear Bart, we did not just lose a dear friend in you but also an awesome activity partner and likeminded individual who shared our quest for right to be free from discrimination. 
I know you missed your family dearly and wished that you were with them on Christmas, but I am glad that we could be your family for your last Christmas on earth.
