Benina passed into the Lord’s loving hands and the embrace of her husband Antonio (1984) and son Frank (1974). Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Nick (Debora), Marilyn, Mary Vasilak (John), Dalia Hobbins (Bob) and John (Laura). Nonna will be cherished and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Frank, Michael, Steven, Christine, Nathan, Lindsay, Matthew and Jennifer. Cherished great-grandmother to Alliasen, Carter and Hayden. Beloved daughter and daughter-in-law of the late Modestino and Concetta Iafanti and the late Nicola and Dalia Miscione of Italy. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Maria (Antonio) Miranda, Pino (Giovanna) Iafanti, Italo (Anna) Iafanti and Fausto (Lina) Iafanti, all of Italy; and Ida Iacovelli of Montreal; Ines Lafratta and Archimede Miscione (Nella) of Hamilton; Vincenzo (Filomena) Miscione and Faustina (Giuseppe) Lafratta of Italy. Loving cousin of Angelo (Mary) Capozzi and Tittina of Toronto. Benina will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Italy. Benina was an especially loving, compassionate, and strong woman, unselfishly devoted to her family. Benina loved life, her family and her garden and she was very much loved in return. It was an honour and priviledge to have Benina as our “Mama” and “Nonna”. “Mama, how blessed we have been to have you as our Mother. We cannot see you but you are with us still. You are more than a memory. You are a living presence. We will love and miss you always.” “Mama, sei sempre nei nostri cuori.” Visitation at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E., on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Friday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 305 East 37th Street (at Fennell Avenue), Hamilton on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
