GIAVEDONI, Carlene (nee Plank) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful mother and nana, Carlene Hope, on January 15, 2011 in her 75th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Bruno Giavedoni. Our mother, Carlene, was a beautiful and proud woman who treated everyone equally without judgment. On her own since the age of 18, she was very strong willed, hardworking and determined. These wonderful traits, she instilled in her children, Lisa Hendry (Dave), Lynne Ruiz (Enrique), Marcy Hamilton (Bruce), and Dean Giavedoni. Our mother had many words of wisdom over the years, to which we live by each and every day. We will now pass them on to her grandchildren, Sarah, Brendan, Danielle, Enrique, Gabriel, Madeline and Eden. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Rezzy. She was an inspiration to all of us and taught us to learn from our mistakes. Carlene was a lifetime bowler, loved the casino and her garden and was always meticulously dressed from head to toe. As through her whole life and even through her illness, she was able to maintain her dignity and witty sense of humour, we will miss her terribly. Visiting will be held at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. (Cremation). In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Trillium or Mission Services would be appreciated. Online tributes and condolences can be posted at markeydermody.com. We love you, Mom.
