Carole is survived by her husband of 58 years Dave, and her life's greatest treasures, children Cindy (Eric) Slinn, Chris (Julie) Hoath and grandchildren Rachel Day (Dylan Miles), Cameron and Madeline Hoath. She will be missed by siblings Lynda (Terry) Stockton, Debbie (Mark) Edmonson, In-Laws Bruce (Sharon) Hoath. Brian (Margot) Hoath, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Carole was quiet but had a subtle sense of humour and was friendly and courteous to everyone she met. She liked to read and watch her favourite tv shows but most of all she enjoyed attending the various sport and special interest events her children and grandchildren were involved with. She spent countless hours as a silent cheerleader at many fields, courts and arenas.
Carole fought her 18 month battle with courage, faith and dignity. She never complained about any of the surgeries, complications or chemotherapy. She was elated when she rang the bell to signify the end of her treatment. We would like to extend our appreciation to all the staff members at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Level 0 ICU and at the VON for their professional and compassionate care.
According to Carole's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private gathering will happen at a later date. Our family would like to acknowledge the generous outpouring of support our neighbours and friends have shown us during this journey. Donations in Carole's memory can be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre.
