Caterina D'Ortenzio

Loving mother of the late Emilio (Anne), and Sabatino “Sam” (Lori). Proud Nonna of Michael (Sheri), Kathryn Castro (Mark), Robert, Daniel, Andrew (Sarah), Mathew, David, and Brian. Bisnonna of Tristan, Caroline, and Jonathan. Predeceased by her brother Luigi (the late Elizabeth) and Amelia Costantini (the late Filippo). After surviving the Second World War, she emigrated from Italy in 1960. She raised her two sons and also cared for her in-laws during those challenging times. Anyone who visited her was warmly welcomed into her home. She always offered a cup of espresso, sometimes lunch and a large serving of love. Caterina will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and close friends.

Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Vigil Prayers at 4:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated.
