RAKOCZY, Charles Born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, it is with sorrow, the family announces the passing of Charlie peacefully, at home, on the morning of Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of Kay Helen of 50 years. Loving Father of Dave and Donna, Brian and Jodi of Mississauga, Bruce and Michelle of Edmonton. Proud Papa to Victoria and Jessica, Kyle and Juliana, Blake and Kurt whom he loved spending time with. Survived by sister-in-law Jean (late brother Joseph), sister-inlaw Lillian (late brother Stan) and by many cousins, nephews and nieces in Canada and the US. Pre-deceased by sister Mary (Hank Marek of Michigan), sister Bernice (Walter Semeniuk), brother Andy (Helen). Charlie especially enjoyed watching his sons play football and hockey in their early days. He loved watching his grandchildrens many accomplishments, family fishing trips and the casino slots. Proud Hamiltonian and steelworker retired from Stelco, Hilton Works with 40 years of dedicated service. The family wishes to thank to Dr. Paul Andrus for his companionate care, 4 Cardiology SJHC and CCAC for helping to make Charlie feel comfortable at home. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers on Sunday at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Lukes Church (200 Mt Albion Rd) on Monday December 27, 2010 at 11am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the cancer Assistance Program or St Lukes Parish would be greatly appreciated.
