Czeslawa Dziurka

After a brief illness, Cecilia, in her 91st year, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, Ontario. She was the beloved wife of 69 years of the late John (Jan) Dziurka (January 2013). Cecilia is survived by her daughters Diane (Chester Gregorasz) and Christine (Dr. James Bonta). She was a dear “Babcia” to her grandchildren Carolyn Bonta (Michael Johnson), Dr. Mark Bonta (fiancé Jessica Smith) and Michael Gregorasz. As well she has many nieces and nephews in Poland. Cecilia was predeceased by her parents Jan and Antonina Bizek, her first born child, Henry and her brothers and sisters. In 1948, Cecilia immigrated to Canada from Poland with her husband Jan and daughter Diane and they made Hamilton their home. For the past seven years Cecilia resided at Macassa Lodge where staff and caregivers not only treated her as family but also provided compassionate care. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff of Macassa Lodge for providing our mother with a comfortable and happy environment. Special thanks to Pam Trafford, RN, and Phyllis Kokoski, RN, her primary nurse managers of C1-East. Friends may call at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL (1309 King Street East – across from the delta) on Thursday, July 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 26 at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 8 St. Ann Street (at Barton), Hamilton with entombment to follow in Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macassa Lodge, Resident Program Fund, 701 Upper Sherman, Ave., Hamilton, L8V 3M7 or the charity of choice.
