We were very saddened to hear of David’s passing. We shared in many campaigns as David was always keen to help Conservative friends across the province and the country. His extensive knowledge of politics and his quick wit were always most welcome encouragement for volunteers. There was little he didn’t know about running campaigns and he passed that on to new generations of Conservatives. We will miss seeing David at Conservative gatherings. David also spoke with pride of his work with his church, Ryerson United. On one occasion we visited for a baptism and he was very happy to give us a tour. We offer our sincere condolences to David’s brother and his family, and all of David’s friends.

Dave Dawson was the first person I met when I walked through the door of Ryerson as a worshipper on Good Friday in 1997. Little did either of us know that he would be instrumental in my journey towards ordination. His unique sense of humour had me in hysterics on many occasions. He was kind to my Mum as well: reaching out to her by phone at times when laughter was what she needed. He enjoyed political debates over cold beer. He enjoyed my stories from seminary and encouraged me in my studies and my faith. He gave sound advice about church work. He will never be replaced and I will always remember him.

I have known David for many years through presbytery and as a member of Ryerson United. David was a dedicated member of presbytery and Ryerson. He will be missed by many people. May he Rest In Peace . Thoughts and prayers for his family.
