David Alan Lord

With heavy hearts the family announces Dave's tragic and unexpected passing on February 25, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Roxanne. Cherished father of Christine (Pat), Steven (Amy), Lindsay (Max) and stepdaughter Leah (Steve). Adored by his grandchildren Shane, Kyle, Katrina, Mikayla, Kayden, Hannah and Baby (Johnson). Beloved brother of Mark, Susan (Daryl), Denise (predeceased by Greg) and brother-in-law of Joanne (Les), Mike (Madeleine) and Moe (Kara). He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews. Dave was a dedicated employee of Canada Post for over 40 years. He had a great love of baseball. He played throughout his life in various leagues, the most recent being HOSSPA. During the last 28 years he was a dedicated coach and volunteer for the West Mountain Baseball Association, coaching his son and two grandsons. Thank you to the Juravinski ER and nurse Rachel for their compassionate care. As per Dave's wishes the family will be holding a celebration of his life on March 4, 2016 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163, 435 Limeridge Rd. E. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Neighbour to Neighbour Food Bank would be appreciated.
