Surrounded by her family, Dianne passed away on Sunday to the soothing tunes of her beloved Elvis.

Born in Hamilton, Dianne was predeceased by her brother Bob and survived by her sister Sandi (Jeff) – she loved them both so much. She was known to say her greatest achievements were her children: Scott (Laura), Lissa (Bill), Dan (Mirella) and Laura (Kyle). A prouder aunt and grandmother you couldn’t find. Auntie Dice to her much loved nieces Bradi and Emily (Ryan)and nephew Matt (Charlotte) and Grammie to her treasured grandchildren Jayme (Jordon), Alex, Carly (AJ), Curtis, Nikole (Jeff), Essence, Annie, Scotty, Tiffanie, Garin and great granddaughter Arya.

Ever resourceful, Dianne had an inner strength that kept her going through trials and tribulations. She loved people and they loved her. Sister-friends Robin and Maggie and Verna (deceased), adopted ‘grandkids’ Joslyn, Joe and Jay - among so many others including dear cousins near and far - were important parts of her life. We are very grateful for the incredible staff at Villa Italia and the ICU at the Hamilton General. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Hamilton Chapter.

Cremation has occurred. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 4th from 4:00 – 6:30 followed by a Celebration of Life from 6:30 – 7:00 at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton.

Dear Lissa

I never met your Mom but I know what a good daughter you were to her, always there for her. You are a good mother to your children, and are always there for them too. You are a thoughtful, strong person and one of the most capable people I know. So yes I concur with Sylvia Bass West and am grateful to your Mom for you. Please know that your book club friends are all thinking of you in this time of sadness.

I didn't know Dianne, but her daughter Lissa and her son-in-law Bill are my dearest friends; and her three grandchildren that I know, Alexandra, Curtis and Annalise are beautiful individuals. These are five people that would make anyone proud to have lived. Decendents such as these are a true legacy.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin. Miss Dianne Foster came into my life with a purpose, that developed into a close friendship. Dianne literally put her life on hold to help me through unimaginable trials. I could never, in this lifetime, do for her what she did for me and my boyz Little Joe and Jay. The Lord must have sent her to us. And then... isn't that how it goes, the Angel must return home to heaven when her purpose here on earth I finished. I am and was so blessed to have spent this last beautiful summer with her at the "Party in the Park" I will truly miss my dear friend. Love, hugs, and prayers to a loving extended family xoxox

Hi Scott, Laura and Carly,
I arrived in West Palm Beach today to visit Solange and was reading the Spectator I brought with me. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom passing. I remember her laugh from Queensdale days.
Please know we’re thinking about you all and hold you in our hearts. Sending you our sympathy and love. XO

I met Diane only recently when my mom, Francesca, went to live at Villa Italia. She took advantage of the beautiful weather to read outside in the fresh air and that's where I first had the chance to chat with her. She was friendly and chatty and we recently had a good talk about the changes that life brings. She told me she liked my mom, which made me happy to know. I am so sorry she's gone. My condolences to all who loved her and will miss her.

From our family to yours, we all send our condolences on the passing of Dianne. Although our lives all twisted and turned in many directions, you all have been thought of and will continue to be in our hearts. My greatest memory of Dianne is her true concern for the well being of everyone. She would never fail to ask how each of us were, she listened and was happy to hear any stories and progress of us. Always a smile, warm embrace and genuine concern for us all. Dianne, I wish you peace, comfort and love for eternity.
To all of her children and Sandy, May you find comfort in knowing that, we care and wish you all the best. God bless xoxo
Love Always

You always helped me through the struggles in my life to the best of your ability. We didn't always see eye to eye, and we were both kind of stubborn people..but you were always there and never did give up on me. You were always there when it counted, and I am forever grateful that I got to have you in my life for as long as I did. There were many times we thought we were losing you and you pulled through like the little crazy fighter that you were.
Although I really thought you had this one in the bag as well, but, I guess it was just your time.
I'm so glad you got to see me graduate and were able to see one of my biggest accomplishments. I finally was able to see you proud of me. A big piece of my heart has gone with you.
I love you Auntie Dice. I always will. I will miss you forever, and I hope you're having a blast up there with Dad. I'm glad you both finally have each other again. Rest in Peace
