Beloved son of Tina and the late Romano Leo, loving brother and brother-in-law to Mirella and Gregg Thompson. Predeceased by his brothers Eri and Michael, Dino also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins both here in Canada and overseas in Italy.
His love of soccer started at the young age of seven and continued well into his 40's. He played for Saltfleet and Proto teams under the leadership of coaches Berlingeri and DiPilino and found his passion. The friendships developed with his soccer brothers were always close in his heart. He often spoke of the great feasts put on by his brothers at the club after his games.
Dino walked to the beat of his own drum so he decided to start a web design business with his buddy Rich. After this, he moved to Toronto. While working at a big box home improvement store and painting on the side, he was scouted by a local TV crew and asked to paint on a new TV reality show called "Take This House and Sell It". He appeared on this series as one of the regular painting contractors, and a star was born. He eventually moved back to the city and helped his sister with her Panino Bar and kept painting.
To many, Dino was referred to as a kind soul who would give you the shirt off his back just because you needed it and would remind you not to be judgmental of others. Dino, you are now reunited with Dad, your brothers, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mt. Albion Rd., Hamilton, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. To view a Livestream of the service, please visit Dino’s page at www.markeydermody.com.

Arrangements entrusted to Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, Hamilton.
