Dorothy Emily May Lewington

Passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in her 95th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Clifford. Dear daughter of the late John and Maude Toomey. Devoted and loving mother of Robert and wife Coline Lewington of Halifax, Donna and husband Philip Nicholson of Niagara Falls, John and wife Anne Lewington. Proud Grandma of Dr. Matthew and wife Dr. Laura Lewington, Jonathan Lewington, Geoffrey and wife Debra Nicholson, Kimberly and husband Chris TenDen, Marissa Lewington, and Brett Lewington. Very proud great-grandma of Benjamin, Garrett and William Nicholson, and Madelyn TenDen. Survived by brother John and wife Margaret Toomey, and sister Shirley, wife of the late Sheldon Upper. Predeceased by sisters May Rogers, Edna Green, Alice Billington and Sadie Tilbury. Will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. Many thanks to the caring, compassionate staff of Lakeview Retirement Home, Clarion Nursing Home and EMS and emergency staff at the Hamilton General Hospital. Dorothy was a dedicated fan of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and had a great love for curling. Visiting will be held at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Service to follow in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
