My deepest condolences to Joan and the Bowerman Family on the passing of our dear friend Doug. I have had the privilege of working with and enjoying many retirement coffee's with Doug since 1975. Doug was always a gentleman, with a great sense of humour and always good "story". Our little "Hooverite" coffee group will miss Doug for our next "Tim's coffee" meeting and his many heart warming emails. May the many happy memories of Doug, comfort you during these sorrowful and difficult days. May he rest in God's eternal embrace and may God bless the Bowerman family.

Mrs. Bowerman and family,

My sincerest condolences on your loss and thee loss of a truly gentle man. I had the honour and privilege of working with Doug on more funerals than I can count since he joined Dignity Memorial. He and Dennis MacGillvray were my "A Team". Doug was a true gem. I cannot begin to tell you the level of confidence and admiration I had in him. He was a service man through and through and he cared. Truly cared. I have chatted often with him through the years with pleasure and enjoyed working along side of him. He has been missed since his retirement and will continue to be missed and remain part of the legacy of Dignity Memorial here in Niagara and I know in Hamilton and beyond as well.

He was a fine man and I am honoured to have had him in my life.

Joan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember how kind and thoughtful you and Doug were with Mum during Tuesday morning bowling, and whenever I drove Mum Doug always had a smile and a hug. He was one of a kind. Take care and God Bless.

All of us at Smith’s are so very sad to hear about Doug’s passing. He was a kind and gentle man…a true gentleman, who will be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of working with him for so many years. Our thoughts are with Joan and the entire Bowerman family as you mourn a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend – someone for whom we all had great respect. Rest peacefully Doug, you will be dearly missed.
