Predeceased by her husband John Beaumont Hart (1989). Loving and devoted mother of Cathie and Brian Watters, and John and Heather Hart. Proud grandma of Andrea and Larry Labelle, Jeff and Lisa Watters, and Jenna Hart and Logan Hart. Beloved gigi of Grace and Martin Watters and Lucy Labelle. Lovingly remembered by Diane Ivanco. Predeceased by siblings Alexander, Charles, Isabel, and her best friend, Lillian and her step-brother, Peter.
Mom was born December 14th, 1937 to Charles and Isabella Walker. After losing her mom two weeks later, she was raised by her aunt Nellie Walker, uncle Herb Walker, and her grandparents while her father continued to work to support the family.
Mom was a quiet soul - always kind and gentle to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to enjoy photos and videos of the family (especially the little ones), all the while smiling that tiny smile of hers.
Mom was a tireless volunteer at her aunt's nursing home in Toronto for nearly 10 years. She had a special way with the residents, and was extremely proud of her volunteer of the year award.
Mom was the last of that generation of our family. To many, mom will always be remembered standing in Nellie's kitchen with a full dimpled smile and a touch of perfect makeup on her face, with smiling, mischievous eyes.
We are deeply grateful to the dedicated staff at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke, whose exceptional care and compassion brought comfort and dignity to mom during her final year.
Visitation at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St East, Hamilton) on Sunday, October 27th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with service to follow. If desired, donations in mom's memory can be made to The Alzheimer's Society or a charity dear to your heart.
Mom, your memory is a treasure we will keep locked in our hearts forever.
