GALASSI, Enzo – It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved father and grandfather at his home on April 13, 2016 at the age of 87. Reunited with Elizabeth, his cherished wife of over 51 years. Devoted and loving father of Dennis, Bruno, and his wife Alonia, and Diana, and her husband Carmelo Sardo. Dedicated, loving and generous grandfather of William, Caitlind and Mary-Elizabeth. Dear brother-in-law of Livia Allega. Also, predeceased by his infant son William, his mother and father, Assunta and Guglielmo Galassi, brother Bruno, sister Vilma, brother-in-law Gino Beltrame, mother and father-in-law Pasqualina and Francesco Paolo Allega, sisters-in-law Cesira and Angelina, and brothers-in-law Virgilio Allega and Edgidio Marini. Enzo, a Dofasco employee for 40 years, retired in 1990 and enjoyed his retirement, especially in the company of his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. Enzo will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and the United States. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), in Hamilton on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Vigil Prayers on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Eugene’s Church, 232 Queenston Road, Hamilton on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10am. Private interment to follow. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Geoffrey Holdway, nurse Niki Heymans and Dr. A. Mulji for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Enzo to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
