

Born Castiglione a Casauria, Italy, 1932. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the most gentle soul, who was much loved and respected by all. A wonderful husband, exceptional father and loving Nonno. Enzo passed away after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the Juravinski Hospital on Monday July 1st at the age of 81 surrounded by his adoring family. Leaving behind to mourn his loss is his cherished wife of 58 years Regina (DiPiero), his loving children, Emidio and Mary Ann Martino, Larry Martino, Cynthia Martino and John Coons, Diana and Joseph Cimadamore. His grand-children were Enzo’s pride and joy, cherishing his memory, Danielle, Stephanie, Gabriel, Natasha, Nicole and Marco. Predeceased by his beloved parents, Emidio and Carmela Martino, his in laws the late Vito and Teresa DiPiero. Enzo was devoted to his brothers and sisters, Maria Bortolotto (Late Gaetano), (late Giuliana) and Luciano Benedetti, Tony and Teresa Martino, Remo and Darlene Martino and (the late Liliana and Dominic Annibale). He will be missed greatly by all of his nieces, nephews and godchildren. He is fondly remembered by all his cousins, families and friends in Australia, Argentina, Canada, USA and Italy. Enzo was loved by his neighbours and we thank you for being so supportive and caring. Enzo was a devoted and conscientious employee of Dofasco for 32 years. A heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and wonderful nurses and staff on C3 at Juravinski Hospital, your care and compassion touched our hearts. A very special thank you to Dr. Elio Ricci, Dr. Monica DeBenedetti, Dr O’Shea, Dr. Junger-Anderson, Dr. Slaven and Dr. Meyers. Thank you to the CCAC for their help and care in the home. Thank you to Dr. Allan and Dr. Schieman from St. Josephs Hospital. We will never forget our champion and our hero, Enzo. We will continue to toast your beautiful memory with your wine at the table, surrounded by family and friends. May He hold you safely in the palm of His hand. Loved and never forgotten. Family and friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-9pm Vigil prayers on Wednesday at 8pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Mark Sullivan at St Eugene’s Catholic Church (Parkdale at Queenston Rd.) on Thursday July 4, 2013 at 10:30am. Entombment in Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery (Mud Street Stoney Creek) to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
